A hidden gem. We had the 12 course menu and enjoyed every single dish. Absolutely delicious. We also got recommended a very tasty bottle of Tannat wine that paired beautifully with the food. Danilo was a fantastic host and his sweet mother Susana who was serving the few tables. If you want to experience fantastic fine dining food made with love in a peaceful setting look no further. 10 out of 5 stars. Thank you.

Sometimes you enter a restaurant and immediately feel it's heart and soul. That was the case here: a former pizzeria of no note converted into an auteur's canvas as is the case here. It seats 25 in thoughtful but basic surroundings, what an owner/chef can afford. Everything important is on the table. Danilo Gonzalez is a CHEF, not a cook, he is inventive, precise and caring and it all shows in each dish of any of his remarkably reasonable tasting menus from 6,8 or 12 small courses. Presentation is superb and the tastes while a little localized ( no salt and little spice) are interesting and even remarkable in their freshness and inventive approach. I dined alone ( not looking for sympathy) and forgot my Kindle, normally eating alone with a glass of wine takes an hour and ten, here I arrived at 9 and left at 11:30 and enjoyed every second. This is a very good thing, I'm a guy who cooks for 20 and eats in 10 so relaxed dining makes it a treat. The small team of 4 ( 3 in back and 1 out front is tight and very concerned. Chef Danilo is everywhere all the time! Wine list is good and house Tannat was perfect. Prices overall really fair and justified. Montevideo is moving forward on the culinary side a few more Danilo's and we will be on the map!

The staff and chef are personal and involved taking time and paying attention. Complex dishes one does not find in many restaurants. The dining area is small and romantic.
